Gymnastics

Grandma and I took Shane to his first Gymnastics class a couple weeks ago. It is the same place I went when I was little. He had a blast! They let the kids just run around where ever they want for most of the class. Shane really loved all the mats and ramps, but was not very interested in the trampolines which surprised me. Then they do fun group things with the colorful parachute and Shane freaked out and wanted nothing to do with it! We used the two free passes my Mom got in the mail and although he had a great time, we are going to wait until the fall to enroll him in hopes he will be able to enjoy more of the activities.

Here are some little video clips. Notice that he starts out yelling "FUN!" a bunch of times and it ends with him terrified of the parachute!

Big Boy Words!

A week ago Sunday, Ryan's Mom babysat Shane all day for the very first time. She brought Grandpa Warren and Aunt Tammy with her too. Shane was a such a good boy...no crying, napped for over 2 hours and not even a poopy diaper! He really was on his best behavior for Grandma Sandi! Then when everyone was getting ready to leave I told him to say bye-bye and instead of waving like he usually does he let out the cutest "bye-bye" I have ever heard! Of course I was soo excited that he finally managed to say the actual words. Now it is like that one little "bye-bye" opened the flood gates because it has been non-stop talking ALL WEEK! Until last week he has been really good with the signs and the animal sounds and can even point out almost all the letters in the alphabet (except for maybe 4 that he still gets confused on), but the only words he really would say were Mama, Dada, cup, hat, up, moon and eggs. I took a couple of minutes today to type out some of the words he has said this week and was shocked that the list is already over 80 words! His latest yesterday was Grandma and careful (because my little daredevil likes to stand up on the arm of the couch and fall forward so I tell him to be careful A LOT!).

We also had another big boy breakthrough last night...it was our very first night of going to bed without a bottle!!! My big boy didn't even put up a fuss. I am so glad to be done with bottles!! Now take a look at this list so you can see why I am sooo amazed and proud of my little Shane!
